Support for our Armed Forces transitioning into civilian life, and our veterans, with a model that could be replicated EVERYWHERE! 

Do you remember watching the ‘DIY SOS VETERANS BIG BUILD‘  (click here to refresh your memory) and the huge impact it had (and continues to have) on the lives of veterans like John Borges, and triple amputee Lamin Mennah and their families (click here)... so important in fact, that the Princes visited and gave a helping hand?
Did it bring a tear to your eye, a lump to your throat that these brave men who’d proudly served their country, and we’re now suffering the consequences were being helped?

Nick Knowles, his team and volunteers created a community for Armed Forces Veterans struggling to transition into a civilian life: like so many others... no wonder when they had never been a civilians!

Wouldn't it be great if these communities were everywhere?

One of the participants of that program, himself a Veteran, and a member of the original Armed Forces  & Veterans Breakfast Club www.afvbc.NET started an organisation to try to replicate that in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire... and they are now on the verge of breaking ground on the UK’s and the Worlds first, purpose built, Transitional Veterans Village (click here) which will be a model for the rest of the United Kingdom, or anywhere! 

But it needs supporting to gain the momentum it deserves!

The Veterans Village project aims to develop a self-sustaining site for the housing and transition of ex-service men and women. It will support individuals, and their families that need help when adjusting to civilian life. This purpose built center will provide a safe and stable platform for veterans where they can create a happy and purposeful life for themselves and their families in civilian society. They can be supported in training and employment till they find their feet in their new life outside the Armed Forces.

We are afforded their protection while they serve, so let’s help them once they return, and get behind this project to make this country the best in world in which to be an Armed Forces Veteran, by signing this petition to ask the Government to get behind this ground-breaking idea!
