The City Council did not accept the petition.

The only rule for submitting a petition to the City Council is that it needs to be submitted before the start of the City Council Meeting. I submitted it and copies were made by a city employee for all the officials in the meeting. City Council was advised during the meeting by the City Attorney that they "needed to keep in mind that the signatures on the petition could not be verified." Citizens are not given the floor or allowed to speak once a vote comes up for discussion.  They voted 4 to 2 to rezone despite our best efforts to stop it. Thank you to everyone who supported us.
