The Issue

My friend Jaylin, who is autistic and uses a wheelchair, is in a situation that deeply concerns me. Recent circumstances have led Jaylin to be situated at Seaside, miles away from our community in Lyndhurst, NJ. This distance has caused an emotional strain, not only on Jaylin but also on everyone who cares for her. Jaylin thrives in environments where she feel safe and supported, and Lyndhurst has always been her true home.

Jaylin's unique needs require consistent care and a familiar environment where they can flourish. Our community in Lyndhurst offers the facilities, resources, and network of support that Jaylin needs. In Seaside, far from these essential connections, it's challenging for her to receive the same level of care and emotional support that we've successfully provided in our town.

The significance of being in a familiar community cannot be overstated for someone like Jaylin. Familiar faces and routines are not just comforting; they are crucial for their well-being. The current setup, being away from the environment that they know, could disrupt their routine and overall happiness.

We urge the local authorities and all relevant parties to act swiftly to facilitate Jaylin's return to Lyndhurst. It is essential to prioritize Jaylin's comfort, health, and happiness by allowing her to live in a place that meets her needs and desires.

I appeal to everyone in our supportive Lyndhurst community and beyond to stand with us in solidarity. Let's bring Jaylin back to where they belong. Sign this petition to help make Jaylin's return a reality, ensuring she is surrounded by the community that loves and understands them the most.
