
Essex live have reported today that the vehicle was travelling between 90 and 100mph when it hit the brick wall.

A spokesperson for Essex Highways said: “We are sorry to hear about this incident and wish the person involved a full recovery. We closely monitor local data and police engagement, as well as resident feedback, to find clear patterns requiring road safety improvements.
"With enough evidence, we are able to put forward engineering works for funding through Casualty Reduction Schemes. We carefully prioritise where there are patterns of serious collisions. However, We don't currently have anything planned for Potter Street.”
There has also been no reply from Essex Highways or Essex Police to requests from Cllr Nicola Purse for an emergency meeting to discuss traffic calming measures on Potter Street.
