We are officially in the home stretch! The Mayor and City Council are starting to get serious about drafting the budget that will shape Oakland for years to come and so we need to make sure they get the message loud and clear: Oakland wants safer streets & smarter public safety spending!  

Help us get that message across by encouraging the neighborhood groups, non-profits, businesses, and other community associations you are part of to sign on to the coalition letter of support (which can be found here). Groups like the Sierra Club, Jack London Improvement District, and Walk Oakland Bike Oakland have already signed on and whether it's your church, your motorcycle club, your neighborhood association, or your local coffee shop-- we would love to have them add their name in support! Please forward this along to them and encourage them to sign up by emailing me at Carter@carterlavin.com saying "yes, add us!"
