Thank you all for the support so far. At 100 signatures, an automated email will be sent out to the City Council members to show the growing support for this much needed and relatively simple addition to the skatepark. 

I sent an email to the Parks and Recs department months ago and this was the reply from the Parks and Recs Executive Director Nate Williams: 

"We have conduit ran for lighting in the future but have no immediate plans or funding to add the lighting at this time."

The ground work is already laid. Let's convince them to finish the job!
