Some encouraging news to share with you:

On the weekend a press release was published by the Prime Minister's office with a readout of a phone call with Egypt's President. It says: 

"The Prime Minister and President Sisi discussed resolving the consular case of Alaa Abdel Fattah, and the Prime Minister expressed his hope for swift and positive progress on the issue."

This is the first official statement from Number 10 about Alaa's case and the clarity of the language gives us hope.
