Good afternoon, everyone!

Robert here. I just wanted to thank everyone for signing our petition so far! It means a lot to me, and it means the world to Gary.

We remain hopeful that, with your help, the Atlanta Braves will repeat history this year, just like they did for Satchel Paige back in 1968, and add Gary to their coaching staff for one game of the 2024 baseball season so that he might finally be eligible for a pension from Major League Baseball.

We also wanted to let you know that journalist Dave Mesrey, who traveled from Detroit to Savannah last spring to see Gary get inducted into the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame, is working on a feature story about Gary for ESPN's Andscape.com.

We hope to see Dave's article published soon in time for Black History Month. We'll let you know as soon as it goes live.

In the meantime, the Atlanta Braves have reported to camp in North Port, Florida, and their first spring training game is scheduled for this Saturday afternoon.

If you haven't already, please help us spread the word about this petition on social media — or via text or email or however you see fit. The more signatures we get, the more support we can show for Coop.

To help Coop as much as we can, we've also launched a crowdfunding campaign. In his struggle to adjust to life after baseball, Gary urgently needs our support to help pay for his health care and to help support his family.

And if the stars align, he just might need to rent himself a car and head down to spring training. If you can, please donate to help support the cause.

And please help us spread the word.

Coop needs our help now more than ever.

For more info, check out our crowdfunding campaign at GoFundMe.com.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Robert Jonas
