Hi all,

There doesn't appear to be any news or plan in place from a local authority stand point on the car over crowding issues in Citywest. The issue is being raised by local councillors regularly, but there doesn't seem to be any urgency from the powers that be to make this issue an urgent one. The parking issues continue, as the population of the area keeps going up, so does the number of cars in need of somewhere to park.

It's come to my attention that long time housing estate residents believe that new apartment residents have their own parking. They do not. The situation is only continuing to get worse, with instances of conflict and arguments within the community. Cars are being threatened, and vandalised. Women are being approached by angry men threatening them for parking where they have. It is a true mess.

We all need to email our local councillors, and express our frustration with the current lack of infrastructure in the area. Our anger on all sides is completely fair and valid, but it is being misdirected at each other. It needs to go toward those responsible for maintaining the area. Please continue sharing and signing the petition, we need as many names as possible for this to be recognised! Email your local councillors & TD officers, email South Dublin County Council, email local news sites & social media. The more light on this issue the better. We need to work together to get any sort of solution to this issue.

I've been in contact with a reporter for Dublin Live who is going to write a piece on our issues for us. I will share it here in in the coming days. Thanks for anyone who's supported so far.
