Medical Kidnap - Legislative Bill Update

Hello Everyone!

While the medical kidnap drafted bill brought a heavier presence to Idaho in 2026 than in recent years, it was not passed on to be further heard on the legislative floor. It was close, but those who are against wanting to define where officials are crossing lines stopped it from having a fair hearing. We were informed what transpired  during the voting session after it was read in the H&W committee was that opposing legislators, including the chair, went against their own operating rules. 

With that being said, our sponsor during that time, Representative Lucas Cayler had been working incredibly hard on 5 bills that would have provided much needed CPS reform. We worked together with Attorney Johann Claus who has handled many CPS cases (including those where wrongful criminal charges were pressed) and was able to reunify.

I am continuing to work further with legislators across the States, raising awareness and help end medical kidnap by having the medical kidnap bill enacted.
