National roll out of Lung Cancer screening.

The Issue

The aim of this petition is to raise awareness of Lung Cancer, which all too often is disgnosed at an advanced terminal stage and often in an A&E environment.

A small number of cases are diagnosed as a secondry cancer or by pure chance from investigation of another cancer.

Lung cancer is the second biggest killer of women over fifty and is in the top 10 of killers in men. A majority of the newly disgnosed cases some 45.000 to 50.000 are aged between 50 and 79 and as the nations average age is increasing more people are falling into this age category.

Too many good people are dying because lung cancer, too many families have suffered or are suffering the loss of a loved family member.
