To rename J8 of the M20, Dave Cash Corner
After the very sad and untimely passing of the legendary DJ, Dave Cash, his fans and loyal listeners would like to commemorate his memory with the renaming of J8, on the M20, as Dave Cash Corner.
Dave used this roundabout on a daily basis, whether it be on his journey to BBC Kent or heading in and out of Maidstone. Dave would always ask his travel reporter towards the end of his programme, whether the route to J8 was clear as his home was approximately a mile from the junction. He would often be spotted at the roundabout driving his branded 4x4.
Dave Cash enjoyed over 50 years in radio. He was a national treasure. After beginning his career with Radio London, Dave became one the first DJ's at Radio One. in 1967, later joining Capital Radio and co hosting a programme with Kenny Everett.
For the last 17 years of his career Dave broadcast to BBC stations in the south with his weekend shows from BBC Kent, reaching not just a local and national audience but an audience across the globe.
Dave died suddenly at home on the 21st October, with his wife Sara Davies Cash by his side.
Dave laid down a sound track for millions of peoples lives in his career spanning over 50 years. He is sorely missed. We feel that to rename this roundabout would be one of the many ways we can remember Dave Cash for years to come.
