I never thought I would start a petition. And I never thought one like this would be necessary in Wauwatosa, or any city in America.

Our chosen leaders should represent us. Not their pet causes. And they certainly should not demand action based on race, which is what Alderperson Kuhl clearly did and said in her own words.

I wonder if she even knew the race of the officer involved in this matter. And then I started to wonder if she could so prejudice in this case, imagine how she thinks about the facts and future of 'Tosa in other cases.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for supporting this petition, including the brave "first 48" who signed.

And I wanted to say thank you to Beth, James, and Juli for letting others hear your voice and sharing your thoughts.

We don't have to agree. But we cannot let Alderperson Kuhl and others like her make decisions and demand actions with prejudice before we even have the chance to agree or disagree. This officer who serves our city was not given a chance to speak for himself.

If nothing else, I hope this petition will send a message about how citizens of Wauwatosa actually feel. And I thank you for being bold in supporting this and in sharing your thoughts, which I can only hope more people will hear what we have to say and how we really feel.

Thank you!
