Re: Action Urgently Required – Corruption in Local Healthcare
Dear Mayor and Council,
My name is Jeremy Jakobsze. I am a Maple Ridge resident and registered health professional that has been falsely and publicly
disgraced to prevent the disclosure of serious crimes being committed in our Healthcare and regulatory system.
My family is heavily steeped in Canadian military, medical professionals, and First Responders. Incorruptible values and ethics are paramount.
When bringing forward complaints of serious professional misconduct, it has produced a long list of willing accomplices in workplace violence and in criminal code violations.
My practice focused specifically on high-risk, chronic illness patients. My patients may require life saving measures, which is why I must possess licensing as a Registered Healthcare Professional and a First Responder. In BC, over 70% of the suicides are male.
This is a specific and focal concern when treating healthcare providers and first responders.
Substance abuse, sexualized addictions, impulse control disorders, chronic pain, and general mental health disorders significantly affect a substantial portion of these high-risk patients.
I have received an enormous volume of confidential disclosures and complaints about serious professional misconduct regarding
other health professionals, regulatory staff, and governmental officials, from my patients, their families, and the general public.
The consequence for being a TRUSTED and sought after professional who maintains our lawfully required confidentiality expected of healthcare providers in BC, is that an exceptionally large target was painted on my head by those abusers that are desperate to prevent disclosure of their involvement in criminal activity.
As a penalty for following our Canadian laws, with the abuser’s backs against the wall, our trusted members of Government (including public representatives, lawyers, etc) openly lied to the Canadian public with specific intent to prevent disclosure on the scope and depth of corruption present in Healthcare, and our government in BC.
What’s been stolen from me is my medical licenses, my RMT designation, my First Responder designation, the ability to obtain any further employment in Healthcare, My self-worth, importance and value in society, my social standing, over $450,000 in lost income,
Over $100,000 in legal fees, my dignity after being mocked and ridiculed by the public, my security after my family has suffered ongoing harassment, the existence of personal and professional relationships, etc.
I have been completely outcasted from society with zero job prospects and no foreseeable professional future in any field. ALL Healthcare, Government related, and/or Government adjacent employment, anything regulated by the government, is completely off limits to me.
Our MLAs, Health Ministers, and our Premiers have been informed of the sexual misconduct and professional misconduct committed by our ‘trusted’ public representatives and regulatory staff. Instead of acting in the public’s interest and protecting those affected from further harm, the BC government decided to remind the essential health services what happens when we whistleblow against workplace violence, by removing those professionals from the healthcare system entirely.
Premier David Eby previously condemned this behavior used by his Healthcare regulatory college, but in recent years, has dodged every attempt from victimized healthcare professionals pleading for help and he refuses to save their lives.
Premier David Eby,
“No one should face consequences for writing to me.”
“The further you move in politics, the more insulated you can be from the people that are actually delivering the services, or the people who are actually having the experience of what the policies look like on the ground. That is a very dangerous position to be in as a politician,”
“As the premier, as someone who’s been involved in trying to make life better for people through the political process for about a decade, the only time I have ever been successful, the only time I’ve ever been able to make a difference for people, is if I have access to front-line information from people who know what’s happening.
And if there’s an attempt to interfere with that by anyone, whether it’s a health authority manager or it’s an employer somewhere — no, you shouldn’t be criticizing the government, you shouldn’t bring forward this concern — that makes it impossible for me to do my job as premier.”
In my case, I submitted sexual misconduct complaints against the College of Massage Therapy and the Massage Association of BC.
To which the college stated that sexual assault, sexualized extortion, sexualizing minors, and occurrences of racialized hate were “not of a serious matter”.
I went on the record to state that members of the college of physio, college of massage, and the massage association were accessories to sexual assault and their subsequent cover up. This information was explained to me as firsthand information by the woman attempting to rape me, and when I refused to comply, threatened me with extortion. The later being an expanded disclosure on who would protect her and bury any claims that arose out of their actions.
The Maple Ridge RCMP (as well as neighbouring detachments) have given all members working for, or even loosely working for, the College of Massage Therapy immunity from investigation and any charges that may occur thereafter.
Further immunity has been given to Gender specific member of the community and Regulatory bodies. Maple Ridge’s RCMP have stated, under no uncertain terms, that FEMALES working in Healthcare in BC possess ultimate immunity from the Criminal Code.
To make matters worse for victims of abuse, when I spoke up and became a protected ‘Whistleblower’, the Maple Ridge RCMP threatened me with retribution.
More recently, I filed a misconduct complaint against the Director of Inquiry and Discipline at the College of Massage that tied her to the sexual misconduct mentioned above. The CEO of the college, in an act of self preservation and conflict of interest, illegally opened a disciplinary action against me as retribution for refusing to be silent on the matter.
Email sent to CMTBC’s Director of Inquiry and Discipline, Nov 5th, 2020,
“I don’t know who touched you when you were 12 or what boy didn’t like you in highschool, but it is not my fault that someone hurt you previously in life.
It is absolutely not ok to continue like this hurting me and my family professionally and publicly. This is the last straw Kate. It is absolutely clear that you have a vendetta against me for unjustified or un-clarified reasons.
You need to stop harassing me and my family to suit your own sexist motives. It was bad enough that my family and I had to sell our HOME so that Anita Wilson didn’t know where we lived after her sexually harassing me. Given her extremely possessive nature. YOU protected her.
You publicly declared I was at fault without proof.
You allow collaboration, coercion, and slander to be openly and admittedly carried out against me between other RMT’s and my patients.
Now you spread slanderous garbage to my neighbours by either intentionally disregarding the seriousness of protecting confidentiality (because it’s me) or because you are too lazy and negligent to require a signature on this report.
Either way, it shows absolute disregard for me and my family. In no way will I let you continue to harm us.
You are unfit to carry out your duties. I will see to it that you are removed from your position. “
Members of the College and Association were caught in attempted rape and other egregious professional misconduct. The College of Massage and its newly amalgamated entity the College of Complimentary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), have outright refused to abide by BC laws requiring them to investigate and punish registrants, regardless of the position they hold in the regulatory scheme, that are guilty of professional misconduct.
It is the CMTBC’s and now the CCHPBC’s view that they are entitled to give their members the legal authority to commit violence with immunity.
College of Massage Therapy of BC,
Director of Inquiry and Discipline,
“CMTBC does not have the legal jurisdiction or legal authority to accept complaints about its own actions. CMTBC cannot accept or process a complaint about its own actions from you.”
The CMTBC then did EXACTLY that. They illegally accepted complaints about its own actions and used their position’s powers to destroy my career and silence any disclosures.
The CEO admitted in an email that the Disciplinary action against me was in-fact INITIATED because the complaint received about his Director of Inquiry and Discipline’s behavior during the execution of her duties at the regulatory college.
“In her dealings with individuals involved in the CMTBC’s inquiry process, whether they are RMT’s or members of the public.”
The CEO of the CMTBC further incriminates himself in Abuse of Trust by illegally threatening me to rescind my complaint.
“…you apologize in writing to (Director of Inquiry and Discipline). If you do not, I will have not alternative but to refer your communications to the CMTBC’s Inquiry Committee for their consideration.”
The college willfully chose to bolster criminal defamation brought forward by the dental professional identified in the disciplinary action. Leading to the ultimate removal of my medical licenses through knowingly false, illegal allegations and very public defamation of my character to ensure that I will never hold significant employment again.
CMTBC (CCHPBC) Admission to Criminal Offences
“(Name redacted)’s complaint to the college does not form the basis of this Disciplinary Hearing. It is the Respondent’s reaction to (name redacted)’s Google Review, that is, his subsequent complaints to the CDHBC, (name redacted)’s employer, the RCMP, the HPRB, and his correspondence with the college staff and its outside counsel, that form the basis of the allegations in the citation and the Disciplinary Hearing.”
“It is totally irrelevant to the Panel’s determination of whether the respondent committed professional misconduct or alternatively unprofessional conduct, and violated sections 27,29, and 32 of the Code of Ethics as alleged in the Citation, if (name redacted) had an ulterior motive or whose version of the events of what occurred at the respondent’s clinic on the day of the mask incident is correct.”
“The college argues that it is critical to public confidence that the governing body of a self-regulated profession be able to effectively exercise regulatory control over its members. This means that members MUST cooperate..”
Most disgustingly, the College of Massage admitted that their justification for violent use of the disciplinary process was because I contacted the Premier, Health Minister, etc.
Refusal to Re-Instate by the College of Complimentary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC)
CCHPBC - March 12, 2025,
“Your repeated inappropriate and rude comments appear to demonstrate a lack of understanding as to what it means to be a registrant of a professional organization and a healthcare worker in general. Rudeness is a character trait that is objectionable for a massage therapist to possess, given that the desired outcome of massage therapy is to promote health and wellness.
The Panel considered your repetitive behaviour to be serious in nature, given that it had the potential to harm the reputation of CMTBC, the regulator of your profession, as well as certain named staff.
In attempting to undermine the reputation of CMTBC, you risked undermining the public's trust and confidence in the profession.”
Further to these points, the CCHPBC went on to state that by exercising my lawful, and protected rights, afforded to every healthcare professional, by merely contacting ANY person holding a position in public office, or by participating in an appeal process, that I had violated an undisclosed or non-existent bylaw, ethics code section, or other provincial statute.
The list includes:
1. Formal complaint submission to CMTBC CEO regarding college staff professional misconduct,
2. Office of Information and Privacy complaint,
3. Health Professions Review Board appeal,
4. Creating a Public petition on Change.org,
5. Communication on Twitter (X)
6. the Health Minister Adrian Dix,
7. ex-Premier John Horgan,
8. the BCNDP party,
9. Ridge Meadows RCMP,
10. Global News BC,
11. Maple Ridge News,
12. Jas Johal (media),
13. Mike Smyth (media),
14. Brenda Locke (mayor City of Surrey, previous Director of Massage Association)
Our government then illegally withheld my license re-instatement. They ran out the mandated 2-year time limit so that I am required to re-certify through the provincial board exams. Acting as an added measure of control against my re-entry to the profession.
In the aftermath of my public, professional execution, we must take stock of the admissions of guilt made by our ‘trusted’ (government) public bodies.
The college of physio’s director of Inquiry and Discipline was named as willing accomplice to sexual assault. When a complaint was filed to this college exposing this issue, my complaint was buried and written off as ‘not of a serious matter’.
A complaint was filed to the College of Dental Hygienists regarding their registrants admitted professional misconduct. The College ‘felt’ that workplace violence was ‘not of a serious matter’ and further explained that they believe in the gendered, sexist belief that males weaponize the regulatory complaints process with false allegations. Even though their registrant admitted to filing a knowingly false, defamatory complaint to the College of Massage Therapy. Her actions are a criminal offense in BC and certainly are in-fact capable of being professional misconduct.
In an act of preservation to public safety, clinics pertaining to these above-mentioned issues were contacted. Great care was taken to maintain confidentiality of those involved. The lack of professionalism and a direct opposition to mandatory professional requirements was immediately apparent.
Once presented with a formal disclosure of their employee’s professional misconduct and mental health-based concerns, these clinics falsely labeled the disclosure as ‘junk mail’. The information was then made available to ‘all staff’ working at the identified employee’s workplace. These clinics facilitated a ‘cease and desist’ letter from the umbrella/parent company that owns multiple dental clinics involved.
At present, 5 clinics in Maple Ridge are involved with extremely dangerous and unprofessional medical professionals, and/or run by agencies that whole heartedly support workplace violence.
In total, 10 clinics are putting the public, their patients, and their employed healthcare professionals in extremely elevated levels of workplace violence (physical, psychological, sexual, and financial violence).
The most egregious failure in our legal system was identified in this case. The lawyers tasked with defending truth, justice and defending our most vulnerable members of society were convinced to participate in the protection of the regulatory system. Despite members of that system admitting to serious professional and criminal misconduct.
My lawyer, after collecting over $100,000 in legal fees, admitted to acting solely in favour of the College’s best interests. My hired lawyer, and the lawyers hired by the Colleges, have been used as ‘Tools for Crime’.
The Law Society of BC has refused to accept any complaints of misconduct regarding their registrants who work for the government, public bodies, or any regulatory body.
The Law Society is presently in the Supreme Court of BC stating that the lawyers of BC do not need to have their conduct regulated, and that professional oversight aimed at maintaining minimum levels of public safety is, in their opinion, government overreach.
As salt in the wound, our city’s news outlet, Maple Ridge News, as well as all other government-controlled media outlets (CBC,
Global, etc) have refused to cover any of these topics.
Our local media has been working in conjunction with the BC Government to suppress proven criminal activity currently happening in our healthcare system and in our local community.
When concerned members of the community utilized their access to on-screen media personalities in hopes of bringing my story forward, that GlobalBC representative specifically stated that I was singularly blacklisted and then proceeded to mock me.
This is extremely concerning behavior exhibited by a company that overtly states portions of their ‘Journalistic Principles and Practices’ in local radio and television advertising,
“Our primary directive is to report accurate, balanced, timely and comprehensive news and information in the public interest.”
I am penning this open letter to the City of Maple Ridge Mayor and Council to ask that you publicly condemn the local violence in healthcare, our local healthcare clinics, and stand with me (and almost 2000 petitioners, across all social media platforms) in demanding that the Minister of Health and the Premier, David Eby, finally protect our citizens instead of themselves.
We, the public, are asking the Mayor and the Council to hold our Premier, David Eby, accountable to his word and recognize my whistleblower protections and publicly support (across all social media platforms) my license re-instatement so that I can return to delivering essential care to the citizens of Maple Ridge.
