The Hawaii County Police Department currently, for the remainder of the month of March, has a “Community Satisfaction Survey” on their website (see below, including claimed anonymity: “Your IP address will not be stored in the survey results.”). If you are inclined you could fill out the questionnaire online and express your dissatisfaction with the Chief's policy of denying every single CCW license application ever submitted to him. It's true that few people apply because we all know that the policy is “no issue” for any reason. Chief Kubojiri has NEVER “granted” a CCW license to anyone, and the Hawaii County Police Department has NEVER granted a CCW license for the past 16 years during which records have been kept by the state. This is an opportunity to express our dissatisfaction through a feedback system initiated by the Police Department, in which we could express our being less safe and more subject to criminal victimization due to not being able to exercise our right to bear arms outside the home. Even if you are not a resident of Hawaii County you could state that you are less safe when you are in Hawaii County because 1. you have no right to carry due to no reciprocity with any jurisdiction granting CCW, and/or 2. you are less safe when you are in Hawaii County because you no that no law-abiding citizen is allowed to carry and therefore no one in public would be able to render you assistance in case of criminal assault.
