I am writing this letter in regards to a sensitive matter involving what could have been the worst mass-shooting in recent US History. To begin with, we are not seeking to change or influence any legislation that undermines our constitutional rights, we are simply seeking that our representatives recognize and honor a local hero Vassili Mironov for his selfless sacrifice, and bring awareness of how municipal and County officials handled the situation. I am a long time Friend and former professional co-worker of Mr. Mironov.

Vassili Mironov is a legally naturalized US Citizen and a Disabled Veteran of the US Navy. Many who know his story including myself firmly believe that Mr. Mironov wasn't treated fairly or equally by the elected officials within the administration of Flagler County Sheriff's office. The reason we are stating this: On the 15th of March, 2014 Mr. Mironov was responsible for stopping a Mass Shooting that involved a racially charged, deranged man from shooting up a crowd of people and was nearly killed in the process. This was a hate crime but was not treated as such. What happened next is very sad and almost unbelievable. Mr. Mironov was mistreated by local law enforcement that arrested him for no cause and without any proper investigation or due process.

And this is the part that stinks to high heaven. Here’s why.

Cops show up and only arrest Vassili, Roman, and Josh.

Vassili asks police to just check the security footage that later showed that him, Roman, and Josh did not do anything whatsoever. Cops ignored that completely and took them to jail.

When Vassili was being driven to jail the cops made fun of him saying that his life is now over. 

At the jail cops try to convince Vassili to not bond out and to just see the judge in the morning arraignment in Orange jail suits. Vassili says no because he is not a criminal and decides to bond out instead. They possibly said this to fuel the painting of Vassili as the bad guy and not Noble.

Vassili files an internal affairs complaint with the arresting agency. As soon as he did the Captain of said agency invites him to talk. In the Sheriffs office the Captain and Vassili watch the security footage that proves he was innocent. The Captain tells Vassili that the arresting Officers were not able to access the security footage at the time of arrest because it wasn’t available to them. The conflicting piece of evidence here is that Finns always provides security footage to the local officers when something does happen. So this was a straight up lie. The cops purposely did not check the footage and only arrested Vassili and his two friends. Captain tried to copsplain Vassili and said that he will do him a favor and talk to the judge about getting the charges dropped even though the footage itself completely exonerated him. Vassili laughs and walks out of the Captains office defiantly knowing this is complete and utter BS. Captain gets mad and yells at Vassili that he will be adding more bogus charges as he leaves his office. 

Vassili Mironov is constantly followed after this and has Military/ Police Helicopters fly so low over his house that he can see the people standing in the Helicopter doors looking down at him while he is sitting in his home's swimming pool enclosure. This is the beginning of a smear campaign to put Vassili in a negative light in order to get the negative attention off of the domestic terrorist Daniel Noble. He is pulled over by police for bogus reasons several times but as hard as they try to manufacture dirt on him it doesn’t work. He stays at his house for almost a year without going anywhere out of fear of retaliation and getting killed. 

When Vassili and his friends were arrested he was still bandaged up from being stabbed in the face which required 17 stitches, and 7 stitches on each hand. Any objectively reasonable Officer would see that Vassili’s stitches were two days fresh and  didn’t break so he could not have been in any shape way or form been involved in a fight that he was accused of at Finns.

The witnesses in the police reports lied to get the negative attention off of Noble to paint Vassili and his friends as the bad guys. They never showed up to testify at court when the security footage surfaced completely negating their made up stories. 

The people who accused Vassili of starting the fight are actually the ones who beat up Josh inside Finns Bar and the security footage shows and proves it was all them. They were never subsequently arrested or charged for beating up Vassili’s friend Josh and lying to police manufacturing false testimonies.

Vassili sues and wins against the corrupt police department. After that police undercovers set up Vassili's brother in an entrapment OP where they plied him with alcohol and asked him to buy weed for them which he did from the bartender at the bar in Poor Walts. His life was ruined because of that and he was made a convicted felon. 

This has followed Vassili around and has cost him jobs and opportunities even though he did nothing wrong whatsoever but only reacted to an active shooter situation where he didn't have any choice but to fight because a gun was pointed in his direction and others.

Vassili is the only person as far as I know who stopped a mass shooting where the would be mass shooter had extensive military combat experience and was more than ready to kill. He fired several shots with his rifle trying to kill Vassili as he was wrestling with his gun.

 

The people who lied to cops were either in cahoots with them, sympathizers of Daniel Noble who is a domestic terrorist, or acting on their own to smear Vassili and his friends to get the negative attention off of Noble. Nobody faced any consequences about lying of what Vassili supposedly did during the night of his arrest at Finns. 

 

       

In many Americans eyes, this is a total opposite situation of what they believe the reality to be, so they won't recognize it. An American white guy, committing an action of terror, stopped by an "immigrant" looking guy. It’s called cognitive dissonance. And for it to be true they will have to recognize that their world view isn't true, and therefor will have to change their belief system. And for many people without the necessary courage that won't happen. It's like telling a Christian that God doesn't exist.
