It marked the first appearances of Sailor John, Ryan, Skiff and the Arlesdale engines of the miniature railway, Rex, Mike and Bert.

It also marked the return of Donald and Douglas, Alfie, Oliver, and Max and Monty.

We need Ryan, Donald and Douglas, and the miniature engines to have leading roles in the 25th season of the original series.
