York county has no dog nuisance laws and I have lived here for the past 20 years. I have witnessed dogs being neglected and mistreated and the law will not help because there is no law against noise or nuisance during the day. Only at night, then it's a Disorderly Conduct charge. Our neighbor has three little dogs and one of them is being mistreated to the point where it is left outside in all weather at all hours of the day and night and barks and wines for hours and hours. It is a mean little dog and my kids can not even play in our own backyard with it trying to get at them. Birthday parties, Family gatherings have all been ruined because of this dog. My wife works nights and cannot sleep during the day due to the poor animal barking and whining so much. We have tried to talk to the lady but, she will not answer her door. She and her brother just crank up the TV and let it bark incessantly. When she has come out to quiet the dog she hits it with something. With this petition we are hoping to help this dog and others across town that are being abused or neglected because there is no law against a dog barking during the daytime hours in our town. All we want is your signature, please help us help the animals that are being mistreated and abused.
