We are a nation of land owners and protectors still dealing with Bill C-45, which overhauled the Navigable Waters Protection Act and removed protection's for many waters that go through First Nations territories and communities across Canada, wrapping a blanket around a selfie is decorating and not real change, the liberals Act literally is scripted and full of empty words. I cannot emphasis the need for protection -- and direct action enough. We are the same communities in a country with unprotected environments, stuck with Harper’s second monster budget bill that dismantled environmental reviews, gutted the Fisheries Act, eliminated wildlife habitat protection, repealed the Kyoto Protocol Implementation Act, reduced the powers of the auditor general, dissolved the Public Appointments Commission meant to fight patronage, and restricted food safety inspections. Thousands of lakes and rivers are not covered any more by the Navigable Waters Protection Act, the Environmental Assessment Act has been shredded, and fish habitat protection disappeared from the Fisheries Act. We cannot allow the mainstream media and liberal propaganda forget that instead of 30-some thousand lakes being protected Canada has, only 97 lakes . The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is playing with fire, No fancy worded pieces of legal paper or laws or money gives anyone the “right” to egregiously impose themselves and their ways on other people or the land they live on. This is a mirrored process of colonization and is always done with violence because people don’t like it, and resist when strangers try to take their rights and home away and tell them to live a different way. This is genocide against people, culture, land, and the many non-human animals also living on the land. This is happening on any Indigenous lands deemed desirable by outsiders for its “resources”, and this is what The TPP contract is enforcing and the Liberal party of Canada just endorsed it ,with no consultation.
