I just read about House Bill 710. It went into effect on July 1st, 2024. This bill bans all books with black, feminist, or LGBTQIA themes. This targets mainly homosexual themes. I find this concerning and offensive. I worry that soon no one will know about the amazing books that have been banned. I fear that the list of banned books will become too long to remember all of them. What has the world come to exactly? I don't know, but it is not good. Not good at all. Governor Brad Little stated, "I share... the desire to keep truly inappropriate materials out of minors hands." Since when did LGBTQIA become inappropriate. Luckily, we have the Idaho Library Association on our side. They believe this ban will become harmful to young people and members of the LGBTQIA association. My question is, how did we allow Brad Little to become governor? Idaho is going down a path that will become harmful to everyone. Governor Little, if your reading this, STOP BANNING OUR BOOKS!
