Though the Varroa based measures of Fipronil poisoning of the environment ceased in NSW, it has since morphed into wide spread poisoning of the environment in Queensland and Northern NSW to kill Fire Ants. Save the Bees Australia and Stop Toxic Fire Ant Program are urging an immediate halt to the mandated poisoning program, which uses Fipronil, Pyriproxyfen, and s-methoprene to control fire ants across 800,000 hectares between Queensland and NSW.
