Dear all,

I am delighted to share this exciting development with you.

The UN Resident Coordinator for Ghana, Mr Charles Abani issued a statement yesterday the 5th of October, 2024, imploring stakeholders and citizens, particularly state, religious and traditional leaders to address illegal and unregulated mining. The statement emphasized the expansive ramifications of galamsey, which includes illicit money flows, arms proliferation, environmental degradation, poverty and adverse impact on public health and wellbeing.

This statement resonates with our petition, which seeks to remedy the unfolding ecocide and restore hope to communities ravaged by the impact of galamsey. I am delighted to see the momentum of this petition and hope we can reach our goal of at least 1000 signatures in no time.

Thank you for signing and sharing it within your networks, together we can end galamsey and save our waters, our environment and the destiny of unborn generations.
