All the public opposition to the plans for mining the forest next to Red Jacket Valley Park proved too much for the developer and he withdrew his application today! I finally found this out in the late afternoon but apparently it all took place first thing this morning.

We couldn't have saved this forest without the support of all you. Thank you for signing this petition and demonstrating how possible it is to change the outcome of a situation that many saw as hopeless. A big thanks to Blue Earth Project for organizing the Town Hall Event and doing some heaving lifting in other aspects of this fight. This showcase of community support serves as a prime example of how we can all make a difference by coming together.
