Last night members of our Wendell Place Committee, The Clark Reservoir Committee, and I attended the Union County Commissioners’ Meeting to thank them for pulling the Wendell Place Boat Ramp and Parking Lot from the plan.
The Commissioners indicated that people come to the meetings when they have a problems they want resolved, but seldom come back to thank them when the Commissioners’ address their. The UC Commissioners were extremely grateful for us doing so.
I would like to personally thank The Clark Reservoir Committee who first championed the fight over the proposed amusement park. I attribute our success to their counsel and advocacy on behalf of the community.
Thank you to all of you that signed our petitions, attended the Township Meetings, wrote letter, and purchased and displayed your signs. Your advocacy contributed to our success.
Finally, I wish to thank our Mayor, and the Township Council for their support in achieving this outcome.
While I realize that some of us would like to have gotten more concessions, considering the original scope of the plan, we have achieved a great outcome.
