Wireless Health Risks
Now, growing opposition to smart meters has united people from all over the political spectrum. In California alone, more than 57 city and county governments have opposed the deployment, and more than a dozen have made smart meters illegal, according to tracking on StopSmartMeters.org.
The World Health Organization classifies radio-frequency radiation as a 2B carcinogen, the same as DDT and lead, based largely on recent peer-reviewed cellphone brain-cancer studies. Some research suggests smart meters can lead to cumulative exposures many times the typical radiation from a cellphone. Unlike a cellphone, a smart meter can’t be turned off. And, of course, no cellphone company charges customers a fee for not using their product.
Thousands of people have complained of headaches, tinnitus and insomnia following smart-meter installation. http://stream.wsj.com/story/latest-headlines/SS-2-63399/SS-2-211078/
