Nancy Marcus, petitioner sent a demand letter to National Grid and DPU demanding the removal of the wireless meter on her home. She was contacted by National Grid and DPU stating that it will be removed with possible charges in the future for removal, but there are no policies or tariffs in place to do so at this time. DPU asked Ms Marcus how she knew it is a smart meter? Ms Marcus was careful not to fall in the trap of calling it a smart meter, when the utility is denying that smart meters exist in Monterey. She referred to the meter as wireless not a smart meter. Ms Marcus has an analog style meter with wireless antennas!!!! If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it ain't a rhinoceros!
