Dear Valued Supporters of Our Bayside Community,
I want to express my profound gratitude to each and every one of you who has taken the time and stood up for our beautiful little Hampton East Bayside Community. As you know feedback has now been closed by the VPA (as of 29th of September).
Here are the avenues I've tried so far:
- Reached out directly to Sonya Kilkenny on multiple occasions, conveying our collective concerns and updating her on the overwhelming community response to our petition.
- Reached out directly to Bayside City Council and our current Mayor, Fiona Stitfold, ensuring they're aware of Hampton East's strong stance against this proposal.
- Reached out to Bayside News to bring wider attention to our cause.
- Contacted the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA), providing them with links to our petition to demonstrate the depth of our community's feelings.
The "Activities Centre Team" from the VPA have responded this afternoon with the following:
Email One:
"Dear Rahsan
We write with regards to your email dated 26 September 2024 (addressed to Ms. Kilkenny) in which you write to us about the Moorabbin Activity Centre.
The feedback you have provided will be considered as your submission on the State Government’s Activity Centres Program.
We appreciate your interest and input regarding our community consultation process for the Activity Centres Program. Your feedback is valuable to us and will help shape the future of planning and development in Melbourne.
Please note that public consultation for this project closed on September 29th.
Thank you for your participation."

To all of you THANK YOU so very much. I'm going to keep this petition open, and continue to post updates as and when I receive any information from relevant parties.
Please don't give up.
