URGENT ACTION:
This will only take 2 minutes of your time: emailplanning@hackney.gov.uk by 23rd Dec please with the following suggested wording:
‘I object to elements of application 2021/1906 on the following basis:
The proposed communal open space provision in the planning application2021/1906 (De Beauvoir Estate) is for just 2.5 sqm per person, much lower than Hackney’s LP33 target of 14 sqm per person and a great deal more can be done to create more communal open space, including green and play space as part of this development, to support both existing and new residents. 26,485 sqm more communal open space would be needed to meet to meet LP33 policy of 14 sqm per person.
To address some of the deficiency, I support the idea of transforming Downham Road into a ‘Streetpark’ to deliver as much as 7,000 sqm of communal open space. Downham Road is particularly wide, with large areas of concrete doing nothing for the environment or local people. It could be so much better, generating significant health, social and environmental benefits for residents.’
