Apprendiamo che il Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) sta votando per decidere il loro nuovo gruppo al Parlamento Europeo e tra quelli considerati vi è anche ALDE.

Il M5S afferma vi sarebbero delle negoziazioni in corso con il gruppo ALDE.

I sottoscritti membri individuali di ALDE Party considerano la mera possibilità che il M5S possa divenire membro del gruppo ALDE come una scioccante contraddizione con tutti i valori per cui ci battiamo:

• I membri del M5S simpatizzano per Vladimir Putin
• I membri del M5S hanno richiesto un referendum sull’euro, affinché lìItalia possa lasciare l’eurozona
• Nel 2014 il M5S ha persino protestato contro l'UE
• Nel maggio 2016 Grillo è stato criticato per aver chiesto quando il neo-eletto sindaco di Londra Sadiq Khan avrebbe fatto «esplodere Westminster»
• Alcuni attivisti sono stati accusati di aver falsificato delle firme sui moduli per le candidature
• Il M5S è anche stato accusato di aver espulso dei parlamentari dissidenti e di negare negare autonomia ai propri rappresentanti che, secondo le accuse, sarebbero costretti a sottoscrivere dei contratti che li costringerebbero a pagare 150.000 euro in caso di violazione del codice di condotta del movimento

Considerato quanto citato sopra, chiediamo a Guy Verhofstadt e al Bureau del gruppo ALDE, che dovrebbe discutere la questione lunedì 9 gennaio 2017, di rigettare l’offerta del M5S di divenire membri del gruppo.

È già accaduto nel 2014 quando il gruppo ALDE rispose al M5S in questi termini: «è impossibile, per ogni gruppo responsabile e pro-europeo, prendere a bordo il M5S».

Chiediamo a Guy Verhofstadt e al Bureau di confermare la decisione del 2014 e quindi non accettare l'ingresso di M5S nel gruppo ALDE al Parlamento Europeo.

We gather that the 5-star Movement is voting today to choose their new EP group and among the ones they are considering there is also ALDE.

The 5-star Movement claims they have ongoing negotiations with the ALDE Group.

The undersigned Individual Members of ALDE Party consider the sheer possibility that the 5-star movement can become a member of the ALDE Group as an appalling contradiction with all the values we stands for:

• 5-star Movement members are sympathiser of Vladimir Putin
• 5-star Movement members called for a referendum on the euro, so that Italy can leave the euro-zone
• In 2014 5-star Movement members even protested against the EU
• In May 2016 Grillo provoked criticism when he asked when the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan will “blow up Westminster” following his success in the mayoral election
• There are allegations of activists being involved in falsifying signatures on the nomination papers of candidates for elections
• The 5-star Movement is also accused of expelling dissenting MPs, of denying autonomy to their elected representatives who allegedly have to sign a legally binding contract requiring them to pay 150,000 euros in case they violate the movement’s code of conduct

Considering all of the above we call on Guy Verhofstadt and the Bureau of the ALDE Group, that is supposed to discuss the issue on Monday the 9th of January 2017, to turn down the offer of the 5-star Movement to become a member of the ALDE Group.

This happened already in 2014 when the ALDE Group answered to the 5-star movement that «it is impossible for any responsible, pro-European group to take the M5S on board».

We urge Guy Verhofstadt and the Bureau to stick to the same decision they took in 2014 and therefore not to accept the 5-star Movement in the ALDE Group at the European Parliament.
