Sanitary bins are not provided in university accommodation as they are not deemed to be as essential as a kitchen or bathroom bin.

Girls are expected to buy bins for their accommodation which is an unnecessary cost when, similarly to other universities, they should be provided free of charge. 

Many universities provide sanitary bins (Aston University, University of Cambridge, University of Liverpool) or a collection service to dispose of sanitary waste. University of Birmingham, however, does not.

If the relevant elected students take this matter seriously, all girls could be provided with sanitary bins for each bathroom within the accommodation.
