Folks - We are doing so well! Your support has inspired us in so many ways to keep going. In just over a week, we've sent nearly 500 signatures to City Hall telling them it's time to ditch those single-use plastic bags! We've even received a message from May Guthrie which proves this petition is working! The momentum is there. The will power is there. The ability to do this is there. It's time to have our elected Councillors and Mayor be the leaders and changemakers we voted them in to be. We can be the City that sends an example to the rest of Ontario that this is doable and necessary in this province. Alternatives are there - they have been there. This isn't something to be done tomorrow, next month or next year. This should've been done yesterday, last month, last year. Keep sharing the message and getting those signatures! We are so proud of the many folks and organizations that have been supporting us - we've just got to keep pushing the message and gaining more signatures! And keep an eye on our social media for updates! This week we will be releasing our proposal for Council, including a timeline for public consultations and our recommendations.
