We now have close to 500 signatures on our petition to stop the total ban of tents/canopies on Redington Beach.  The Redington Beach Board of Commissioners Meeting is on Wednesday, July 3rd, 6:30 PM.

This will be the meeting where the 2nd and final reading of the newly proposed  ordinance banning all tents/canopies on our beach will be voted upon.

I have learned of two attempts by the Mayor to get feedback from Gulf front condo associations.  The sentiment being shared is that they plan to move forward with the ban.  Postponing the reading until the July 3rd holiday week seems congruent with that thinking.

Perhaps they are thinking that because it has been a month, and because it is a holiday week, we have forgotten or do not care enough to show up when most of us are either out of town, or gathering with friends and family.  Let's show them they are wrong.  We are still dedicated to ensuring we have the right to utilize tents/canopies on our beaches, which is especially vital to those who do not live directly on the gulf.

It is VITAL that we attend and allow them to hear our voice.

Let's finish strong.
