Good morning. I am sorry to hear what your family has had to endure for the past decade, and I am interested in discussing your proposal.

My office will be contacting you to arrange a time to meet before we return to our regular legislative session in January. That is when any legislative ideas can be proposed.

I serve as a State Representative in Cobb County, and we are one of five counties that has recognized the need to have a professionally appointed medical examiner who must meet specific medical, educational, and state licensing requirements. One possible legislative solution could be to transition all counties to a medical examiner to ensure that certain standards are met. One thing that would complicate making that change is the recent passage of HB 369. That is a significant roadblock that I would like to see us work through.

We will be reaching out and want you to know that I am interested in strengthening this piece of our legal system.
