Westminster Choir College, Under New Management, Must Recognize AAUP

Whereas: Rider University has announced it is in negotiations with a new institution to assume the continuation of Westminster Choir College on its Princeton Campus

Whereas: Rider University has stated that the negotiations, including the name of the new institution must for the time being remain confidential

Whereas: The success of Westminster Choir College is absolutely dependent upon its current faculty body

Whereas: The faculty of Westminster Choir College is dependent for its success on its being represented by the AAUP

Whereas: The faculty of Westminster Choir is dependent for its success on its current contract

Whereas: We support our beloved faculty

Therefore be it resolved: That the condition of continuation of the current faculty that wishes to remain and its representation by the AAUP be a non-negotiable position between Rider and its unnamed partner in negotiations

Be it further resolved: That the current contract be maintained as a starting points

Be it further resolved: That the Westminster Choir College faculty remains in the Rider AAUP chapter

Be it further resolved: That all negotiations with the Westminster faculty be joint to the negotiations with Rider faculty, that both the new institution and Rider University recognize Rider AAUP as a single bargaining unit, and that terms for the faculty of Westminster Choir College and Rider University be jointly determined through the current negotiating process with Rider AAUP
