I am begging you. If more money is not added to TRS Health Care, educators and public school employees in many situations will be at risk of not just losing their lifestyle, but in some cases their lives because of lack of coverage or inability to afford necessary medications and treatments. Money is found to build highways, to lure big business to Texas, to lure sports events, to run for statewide office for that matter to the tune of billions of dollars. Surely, the legislature can work together on this issue to save the TRS retirees of the state. I have worked multiple jobs throughout my career just so my family could live a modest middle class lifestyle because education pay did not allow that. And now, I have no idea what to do to take care of my husband and myself, yet, I can not imagine if I were on the pension of a cafeteria worker or aide. Your moral compass should allow you to do no less than what is right in this situation. What if it were your parents, your family members facing this situation? What if it were you? With the excellent taxpayer supported FREE insurance you have can you even begin to imagine the circumstances we are facing? Again, PLEASE do what is right. Find additional help for TRS.
