Currently in Greenville County our schools do not notify other parents if a child is found to have head lice in the classroom. The school nurse no longer checks the entire classroom.  Which means head lice have become a rampant problem in our schools. 

Bed bugs found in the school don’t require parents notification either. Which gives the bugs the opportunity to travel from backpack to backpack and further home to home. 

Our schools have our children for a large portion of the day and we need transparency and communication to have a successful environment at home and at school.

One child with either of these very quickly spreads to the rest of the school because of the close proximity they are in all day.

Greenville County needs to do better! Sign the petition to ask them to put a policy back in place where parents are notified of situations like head lice and bed bugs at school that affect the well-being, health and ability to be in class of our children!
