Palm oil is obtained by destroying rainforests and habitats for many animals, especially orangutans. Indigenous people are also affected by what the companies do to the local ecosystems. People have been boycotting palm oil for that very reason for a long time, and we don't always remember to check the ingredient list. It should be mandatory that companies like Oreo,  kit Kat, dove and Colgate put labels on their product if it contains palm oil. People have a right to know what they're giving money to, and alternatives to palm oil need to be found.
