Nicholas Godejohn does not deserve life in prison without the possibility of parole for his part in the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard. If Gypsy Rose Blanchard was able to get away with a 10 year sentence, why is Nick stuck with life? Of course he is the one who did the killing BUT he suffers from mental illness and willingly confessed to the murder. Gypsy manipulated him into killing Dee Dee for her, she planned the murder out. Gypsy had many other options to escape her mother and live her life with Nicholas, she could’ve run away like she had before, told someone about her situation, etc. The sentence that Nick received was unfair in comparison to Gypsy’s and during his trial he actually petitioned the judge to grant him mercy to which the judge refused.  It breaks my heart that this man is going to sit in prison for the rest of his life while Gypsy will get to live a normal life after her sentence is up for practically committing the same crime. I’m not saying free him from prison, but his sentence should be reduced drastically.
