The quality of air that we and our children breathe is getting polluted everyday by automobile and Industrial pollution. However during Diwali the rampant and excessive use of fire crackers makes the air not only unsafe but poisonous which affects our children first and us in general. No matter how much campaign we under take to create awareness, the ground reality is that as long as crackers are manufactured and allowed to be  sold , the problem of breathing poison air cannot be stopped. The cracker is an air pollutant in terms of the definition of Air pollutant in terms of The Air (prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The Air quality of New Delhi after this Diwali in 2016 became unsafe by 1000 times. This has not happened due to day to day human activities but due to unprecedented use of fire crackers for the occasion of Diwali. Therefore unless a complete ban on manufacture sale and use of Fire crackers is made by passing of legislation in the Parliament , not only we shall cause peril upon our young generation but also contribute to killing of our access to free and fresh air. In times to come we will have to buy fresh air just like we buy water bottles today.

Therefore a total ban on manufacture and sale of  fire crackers will stem the hazards of poisoning our free air.
