Please sign this petition to stop the closure of all the facilities at the Marina Centre Great Yarmouth. The closure is due to happen this year without any adequate public replacement facilities in place. This will leave our local community within our borough without any access to a walk-in pool essential for the elderly, disabled and younge children. The plans for a new Marina Centre on the exciting site that will not be built for 2/3 years only consists of a square 6 lane pool with inadequate access and the loss of many other facilities like skating, bowls etc. The loss of all the facilities in the Marina will affect people’s lives, health and well-being. We are constantly being told as a society we need to keep healthy and fit but by taking away most people access to regular exercise for 2/3 years without other facilities in place, will be detrimental to our communities health.

We propose to keep all the Marina Centre facilities open to all and rebuild a new Centre elsewhere prior to closure and demolition.
