Ban the sale of fireworks to the general public

I heard a story today about a local family who lost all three of their rabbits in their hutch through a firework landing in their garden. This is not the first horror story I have heard. Fireworks are bigger and more explosive than evermore with a clearance area of 100 meters - whose garden these days is big enough? Other people have been seriously injured, and then there those who think it’s fun to tie fireworks to the tails of black cats and other animals for fun! As for pets, most are terrified of the loud bangs - a friend of mine has to get a supply of diazepam for her dog because he’s so frightened. My little cat is also petrified and runs to hide each time there is a loud bang and won’t come out for hours. Fireworks are not just one day a year - we have them from October right through until after the New Year and I feel this not acceptable. I think the time has come to stop selling fireworks for the general public and limit them to public displays only.
