Thanks to a former police officer called Jo Bosworth - the campaign has been featured on two BBC Breakfast shows; I think that anyone who heard Jo's harrowing interview on BBC Radio Leicester yesterday, could not fail to realise the terrible impact that the '87 police pension rules continue to inflict upon police widows. Jo is one brave lady - her interview was pre-recorded and though she became very distressed at one point she still gave permission for it to be aired. I will share a secret with you now that will become public knowledge next Wednesday on BBC Midlands Today - our house always looks as if it has been struck by a hurricane and no-one has bothered to clear up; since starting the petition, the coffee table has been hidden under a mountain of paperwork, the hoover has gone into exile and dusting has become a distant memory. Imagine my horror when I was contacted at 10am yesterday told that a reporter from the BBC was coming at noon to interview me regarding our campaign! The TV report next week will I assume - contain my interview at home and there will also be coverage of our visit to parliament to lobby out MPs. I will not present the petition next week as there is still the possibility that we will achieve the 100,000 target - so tell your friends the petition will remain open for signatures after the 29th October.
