Good evening ladies and gents,
I met Chief Superintendent Joanne Clews at the closing of Walsall Police Station on Sunday 9th October; she is Walsall Local Policing Unit Commander.
As a result of our conversation regarding this campaign, she forwarded my latest briefing document to Chief Superintendent Tim Jackson, who is the National Secretary of the Police Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales.
Chief Superintendent Jackson sits on several pension groups and according to Chief Superintendent Clews has been actively engaged in trying to progress the issue and he, “Believes it may be worth another push.”
Having written a great many letters trying to persuade folks to act upon our behalf - I thought it would make a change to write letters of appreciation and encouragement to Chief Superintendent Jackson in order to tell him what lifelong police widows’ pensions would mean to us and our families.
It is easier to be be persuasive and to do one’s very best when you know the personal stories behind a campaign; we are the most vulnerable members of the police family and we are relying on the most senior members of our family to support us in our time of need.
He can be contacted at the following postal address:
