Thanks again for supporting this petition! One of our PUC Senators is also working on submitting a student senate bill asking that GASP be made an official club. There is support for GASP and our LGBTQIA+ students at PUC! Can you help us show just how much support there is?
This might be the most momentum we’ve had for an opportunity to make real change at PUC for the last decade. I would really love to blow people away by how much support our community has for ALL the wonderful diversity within that community! I was really hoping to have 500 signatures by the time the College Assembly met on November 29 but unfortunately once we hit Thanksgiving, signatures slowed way down and we’ve been stuck close to 200 since last week.
I’ve posted this update with a QR code that you can share to link directly to this petition. If you are able, please share it with other PUC students, employees, parents, alumni, conference churches, etc. and ask them to sign in support of GASP.
GASP is a place where everyone is accepted for who they are without judgment. Officially acknowledging GASP would be a step toward developing that same culture on the campus at large.
Just imagine what it would be like if PUC were a safe place for our young people in their journey developing their unique identities. Imagine if PUC were a place where everyone was accepted and welcome. If there is anything that gets me more excited about PUC, it is the potential for us to be a safe place for ALL.
