Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an important update. Many voices came together and collectively we helped make a difference in the fight for Sonny. Governor Kay Ivey has commuted his sentence to life without the possibility of parole, stopping the execution that had been scheduled.

This outcome honors the wishes expressed by the victim’s daughter and reflects the many voices who spoke up, signed the petition and brought attention to this case. I am grateful that Governor Ivey took action in this matter.
