Hello all, well every time I think that the numbers can't keep increasing, you all keep signing, never in my wildest thoughts did I ever imagine on Sunday that the petition that I was drafting would get to anywhere near a few hundred signatures, let alone over 208,000 signatures.  Every day I check the dashboard and the numbers just keep going up, you are amazing, thank you so much.

I am sure that like me, you are all very disappointed with the Ofsted statement today,  and the sheer disregard for the strength of feeling that there is around this subject particularly this week.

For those that haven't seen the breaking news this evening, I will share this with you.

In a statement to the BBC @Ofstednews have confirmed that a pilot visit to test their new inspection framework was made in 2019 to Caversham Primary School, in addition to inspectors - the Chief Inspector Amanda Spielman was present as an observer.  The visit was ungraded - informal feedback given but Ruth Perry told parents that feedback was glowing.  This 'Pilot Inspection' took place on the 5 and 6 June 2019.

Now I am trying to get my head round how could the 'Pilot Inspection' differ so widely to the inspection that took place in November 2022 and it makes me feel, very strongly indeed that an inquiry definitely needs to take place and that remains the focus.

I also still feel very strongly that Ofsted need to make a statement in relation to why they thought it was necessary to include the statement in relation to Ruth Perry's death, it was callous and insensitive.  If the report went from draft to final in the usual time frame, it would leave you to believe that the report had already been drafted and converted to final without that statement and that someone at Ofsted following the news that Ruth had sadly taken her own life saw fit to amend the final report to include that statement.  This week they have then made the decision to amend it back again.  Someone needs to explain this.

I am still awaiting a response from the Rt Hon Gillian Keegan and Ofsted, but I will continue to pursue this.

If anyone does want to comment with thoughts for next steps then please find me on Twitter - @JEMBusiness2020

Thank you all so much for taking the time to sign and share and please, do keep on sharing.
