Mr. Ranleigh Johnson is a career substitute teacher in the Granite School District. He taught for 40 years at every high school, junior high school and several elementary schools in the district. He is bombastic and challenging. His love for students is obvious; His love of education, unparalleled. His sole concern is the students, even when they are uninterested or openly hostile. That fact has caused consternation between Mr. Johnson, students and administration many times over the past four decades. That said, most students absolutely love him as a substitute. The students of the district need this man's direction and guidance. No one who has had interaction with Mr. Johnson is surprised that he has drawn the ire of the district administration. The truth is, we don't care. If the students mean anything, then the administration has a duty to reinstate him immediately. In a time when your district is in dire need of substitute teachers that care, we don't understand your current position at all.

Reinstate this beloved teacher immediately. It's as simple as that.

I started this petition because...
My name is Vern and I have a barbershop in Kearns, Utah. Mr. Johnson was a very active teacher at many of the schools in this area. Kearns and Hunter High Schools, and many of the junior high schools in the area. I have many clients in the shop that had or have had Mr. Johnson as a substitute. From junior high school students now, to men that are in their 30's. Unequivocally, they have nothing but high regard for this man. While at the same time not at all surprised that he made some students upset or mad. To know Mr. Johnson is to know that he has the ability to push buttons. If he was terminated because he has offended some. then we the undersigned want you to know that we are offended that he lost his job. Honor our offense, if that is way things are done now.
