ABA Provider Conference Call - Update on A. E. Wood's meeting with EQ Health
Call in date and time June 12th at 5:30pm
A. E. Wood's lobbyist has arranged this meeting - We've had no help from our State Association in coordinating to help providers thus far. We've taken the items sent to us, and have created our own full list of issues that BCBAs want addressed.
We've done it with the help and support of generous ABA Practitioners who recognize that Licensure for BCBAs is not the appropriate means of combating the statewide assault on ABA Therapy that is currently occurring.
Licensure would tax BCBAs, requiring more paperwork, deadlines, and rules; limit the ability of BCBAs to relocate here for work, and would not stop LPCs, LMHCs, and LMFTs from working outside of their scope of expertise (the actual problem that led to this moratorium).
The BACB does not believe Licensure is needed for BCBAs and it is not up for a vote or bill this election cycle in Florida. Focusing on that issue as has been done, dilutes our message and makes the problem seem like it is on the shoulders of BCBAs, when in fact, the blame for this issue falls on EQ Health and AHCA...
