Message from ACHA Regarding Behavior Analysis Services

Trinity ABA, LLC | Behavior Analysis Services for Challenging Behaviors
Mar 20, 2018
Here is a response from Karen Wessel at ACHA - this is information that has been provided but is useful. Our concerns remain that a transition with no notice will continue to delay services across Florida... Here’s the message.
Shelly:
Thank you for contacting our Agency with the above issue.
There are two Provider Alerts attached to this email.
BA Provider Alert of 02/16/18 is effective for a date of service 02/09/18 forward.
· The only change is to include a Referring Provider on the claim.
· We have also experienced claim denials for Diagnosis Codes that include the word Unspecified. This could be related to the second bullet in the Provider Alert which is below.
· Claims with this information can be resubmitted.
Regarding Procedure Code H0032 with Modifier BA: On 03/15/18, our system was updated to allow three Behavioral Reassessments per State Fiscal Year. Prior to that date claims were denying for a third Reassessment stating that they exceed the allowable limit of two Reassessments per State Fiscal Year.
Regarding the delayed issuance of Prior Authorizations: As you may have heard, effective now, there has been a change in the contractors for Florida Medicaid’s Behavioral Analysis. We have attached two Provider Alerts that explain the change made in February as well as the Alert issued on 03/16/18.
In addition to the information in the Alerts, we would like to convey the following:
All Prior Authorizations will be transferred from Beacon to eQHealth.
From 03/16/18 to 03/25/18, PA’s are not required for Assessments and Reassessments. This PA bypass is for those procedures ONLY.
eQHealth will be holding trainings, please visit their website for these training dates.
Thank you again,
Karen
