With the passage of the state budget by the House Finance Committee, there is a clear path to the legislative session ending soon. All the more reason for you to increase your efforts to ensure free play recess for RI's youngest children. What can you do? 1. Call the Senate President: Teresa Paiva Weed needs to hear from you. Even if you've called before, call her office ASAP and ask her to send this bill to the Senate Floor. 401-222-6655 2. Call your Senator and ask him or her to support this bill: If you don't know who that is, you can find a list here, at the Voter Information Center: https://sos.ri.gov/vic/ 3. Ask others to do numbers 1&2 above. Bottom line: this is an election year, and there are more parents in the state than anything else. We need you to speak up for children over and over again. The science is overwhelming. There is no supportable reason to be against ensuring free play recess for children and you need to make sure your elected officials know that you and other voters know this is the case.
